  • How does online therapy work? We met on an online platform (ZOOM) and we use video and audio to see and hear each other. You are in a confidential place on your own and I ma in my therapy room.   • ​What can I expect for my first online counselling appointment? You will expect to see me, we will talk about the contract and what therapy is. I will answer any questions you may have and I will clarify what will happen in case our internet fails to work. After you will have a chance to say why you choose to attend a therapy session and of course we may make a therapeutic plan together.   • ​How long are therapy appointments? The first session may be 1h and 20 minutes or 50 minutesand after you may choose either to have 50 minutes or 1h and 20minutes.

  • ​How often do we meet for therapy appointments? Can be every week, every two weeks or as often as requested and need it. We will discuss about the frequency in our sessions.

  • ​Do you offer reduced rates or sliding scale rates for appointments? I offer reduced rates for Students who study Psychology /Counselling .

  • Do you offer in person appointments? The in-person appointments will be on Rainhill, Liverpool.

  • ​Are online therapy appointments confidential? Yes. Zoom is encrypted and I use headphones to avoid anybody from hearing what you say, although usually is nobody around my therapy room.

  • ​How do I know if I need counselling? Only you can decide whether you wish to try counselling or psychotherapy. Just talking to someone confidentially who is not a friend or family member can make all the difference. Counselling provides a regular time for you to explore your feelings and talk about any problems you're experiencing. A counsellor can help you develop better ways of oping, allowing you to move forward and get the most out of life.

  • Do I have to pay for counselling sessions? Yes. If you a private client you need to pay upfront. If you access therapy via Insurance, EAP or school programs the provider who made the referral will be in charge with the payment.

  • What will we discuss in therapy? We will discuss about you and why you want to access therapy.  You choose what you talk about.

  • Will you give me advice? I don’t give advice and tell you what to do. We offer you skills, ideas, challenges but you decide how much you are doing from our suggestions and how you want to adapt it to your own needs and personality.

  • Will you prescribe medication? No. I may suggest you to talk with you GP.

  • How do I know if therapy is right for me? By trying and see how you feel after sessions.

  • Why do people go to therapy? They want to speak with somebody who is not their friend or family, somebody who is listening and don’t judge them.

  • I don’t feel like I have a major problem. Can I still benefit from therapy? Of course. People attend therapy to explore their inner self and to understand who they are and where they are going.

  • How do I pay for therapy sessions? Give details about payment and payment options. You can pay by Zettle Link, Bank transfer, cash and with the card.

  • What if I cannot make it to a session? (Cancellation policy). Usually you need to give me 24h notice. Some companies that I work will ask for 48h notice.

  • Does what we talk about in therapy remain confidential? Yes.

  • Can I decide to see a different therapist? Of course.

  • What if I don’t want to talk about something? It is your choice. Maybe you are not ready at that point and you may do so in the future.

  • Will you think I’m “crazy”? No. I think you are special, unique and you are very strong by trying different avenues to help yourself.

  • Will you get tired of hearing me talk about the same things over and over again? No. I may ‘stop’ you but just to let you know about the pattern and to analyse it with you.

  • Will there be any written record of what I say? What happens to that record? I keep notes on my computer which are password protected. I delete them after 7 years. Keep them for Insurance purposes or in case you return to therapy. You can have access to them at any point.
